Character Analysis

Prince Brat and Jemmy ran away together, and they change along the way. Prince Brat was mean and rude, in the beginning. Jemmy, on the other hand, would like to go back to the street, and not live in the castle. They didn't like each other at all.
Running away wasn't as easy as they thought it would be. But they made it through okay, and their personalities changed a lot. Prince Horace swore to protect Jemmy, and Jemmy called Prince Horace his friend. I think running away together made it so they could cooperate and understand each other.
At the end of the story, Prince Horace admits he's afraid of the dark. Also, he wishes he was like Jemmy. Prince Horace does nice things to people, and wants to work as a team. Jemmy was happy to work in a team with Prince Horace, and he treats the prince like a friend.  He feels friendly and trusting towards the prince. As the story shows, change can be good.

Names Can Describe People

Names can describe people, like in the book The Whipping Boy. Some names do that naturally like my mom's name Melody. In the book, there are names like Hold-Your-Nose-Billy and Prince Brat. Hold-Your-Nose-Billy got his name because he eats a lot of garlic. You can probably guess how Prince Brat got his name. It is fun to come up with names that describe people you know.
